Nathan Jones led his Luton boys to a 2-1 victory against his former club Stoke, as the Hatters picked up another three points in their play-off push.

After a slow first half, Luton went on to have four clear-cut chances in the second period, finding the back of the net on two of the occasions. Harry Cornick's cross into the Potters' box was met by a clinical strike by Luton's number nine Danny Hylton who scored his second goal of the season in the fifty-third minute of play.

Luton should've doubled their lead soon after with two dangerous attacks, however, Adebayo squandered both chances, failing to register his thirteenth goal of the season. With the pressure being applied by Stoke, Luton needed to find a winner. Former Stoke striker Cameron Jerome did just this for the Hatters as he scored in the eighty-first minute, just six minutes after joining play from the bench. The finish means he has two goals in two games, starting to pick up crucial form after a struggling start.

Stoke started an attempt at a comeback in the additional minutes of time. Lewis Baker‘s long-range effort beat Jed Steer as Luton gave the midfielder far too much time on the edge of the box. The last five minutes of the seven added on would have been difficult to watch for Hatters' fans, however, Luton's defence held out and contributed to another three points for Luton. Although they didn't get the clean sheet the defence put in another great performance, with VIEWS Sports man of the match Amari'i Bell having a brilliant second half at left wing-back.

With a combined age of 67, Cameron Jerome and Danny Hylton's goals have given Luton great hope of getting into the play-off positions. The win saw Luton get their first victory against the Potters for the first time since the start of the century back in 2000.
