Luton Town took on second placed Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, and again put in an impressive defensive performance to limit the promotion contenders to just 1 registered shot on target during the 0-0 draw. Similarly to the Bournemouth win and Fulham draw, Luton are becoming quite a difficult team to defeat at their home ground Kenilworth Road, even against the top three teams. The Hatters also looked dominant going forward and almost scored as experienced striker Cameron Jerome came close in the first half.

The Town made four changes to the previous side, with Allan Campbell, Henri Lansbury, Fred Onyedinma and Cameron Jerome coming back into the starting eleven. With top scorer Elijah Adeybayo ruled out through injury, Harry Cornick returned to the bench for the first time since November. Peter Kioso and Simon Sluga were left out of the matchday squad with speculations around both of their futures at the club.

Going into the game on the front foot, The Hatters played some great attacking football as Onyedinma ran his socks off, winning valuable set pieces in the run of play. Although Luton played some excellent football, they just couldn't find the back of the net. The closest chance came when Cameron Jerome struck a weak shot which rolled slowly to hit the woodwork, to the fans frustration.

As the second half went ahead, both teams searched for an opener but couldn't break through the defences. Blackburn youngster John Buckley found a way to wind up the Luton players and fans through his trickery and cheating as he stood too close to the freekick taker and moved the ball multiple times. He ended up being involved with a scuffle between the two teams near full time, when Harry Cornick and Henri Lansbury wound up the Blackburn keeper Kaminski who was booked by the referee.

A strong defensive performance from young Luton defender Gabe Osho, contributed to another clean sheet for Luton's number one James Shea as he linked up with fan favourite Kal Naismith and last weeks goal scorer Tom Lockyer in the back three. Just in front of the defensive line Henri Lansbury put a good shift in and won important tackles in the middle of the park as he returned to the team. The all round protecting defence earned Luton another hard earned point against a very good team, although many Luton fans would argue they deserved all three.
