The Hatters drew 1-1 with Peterborough in their clash yesterday evening, as the relegation battlers showed a great display of determination and teamwork.

The game ended in a draw, but the Hatters appeared lucky to even leave the Weston Homes Stadium with a point as the Posh came close twice in the additional minutes of the match.

Luton started with a very attacking line-up as Danny Hylton, Fred Onyedinma and Cameron Jerome returned to the side.

In the opening ten minutes, Peterborough came close twice in quick succession. James Shea made an outstanding save to keep Frankie Kent's header out of the Hatters' net. Shortly after, he stopped a long-range effort coming from the shot of Jack Taylor.

Just thirty minutes in Luton pleaded for a penalty after Danny Hylton was challenged by Josh Knight in the Posh box. Cameron Jerome had to be replaced moments after the incident when he pulled up. Coming on in his place was last week's VIEWS Sports Man of the match, Henri Lansbury.

Luton's first real chance came just before halftime when Adebayo flicked the ball into the path of Hylton, but his effort was blocked by Knight and the two teams went down the tunnel level for halftime soon after.

Coming out for the second half, there was a sense of déjà vu for the Luton: fans Hylton latched onto yet another flick on by Adebayo, though this time his shot was deflected for the corner. The 3700 travelling fans were certainly hyped up by this fast start to the second half. The corner caused troubles for the Posh defence, but was eventually cleared after Lansbury's effort was saved.

The Hatters improved start to the second half paid off in the forty-ninth minute when Danny Hylton fired them into the lead. Henri Lansbury's beautifully weighted pass to Fred Onyedima set him racing into the box where he placed the ball behind the path of Hylton who somehow managed to get the finishing touch.

Hylton made way with just ten minutes to play. Coming on in his place was Sonny Bradley, the club captain made his long-awaited return from injury to record his 150th outing in a Luton shirt.

Luton couldn't defend their lead, as in the eighty-seventh minute Peterborough scored an equaliser, Clarke-Harris made no mistake to beat Shea this time around as his headed effort went into the back of the net. The Posh almost doubled their tally on two different occasions during the additional time, but luckily for the Hatters, they could not beat Shea. Harry Cornick came on for the added minutes, but the late substitution made no difference.

Finishing the game 1-1 Luton may have dropped two important points, but they should consider themselves lucky to have even gained one after Peterborough's efforts at the end.
