Last October I reported as local golfer Robbie Simpson rounded off his season with a two day golf tournament at Cainhoe Wood Golf Club (Beadlow Manor)
I arrived at Cainhoe Wood Golf Club to report Robbie's second day of action on the eighteen hole course. As I wasn't present on the first day as Robbie went round the 'Manor Course' I gained coverage as he took on the 'Castle Course' with his partner Jacob.
The day had been split into two due to the two large eighteen hole courses and the amount of players participating. Before the course began all the participants practiced on the driving range and the putting green.
Robbie told me "The first day wasn't as successful as I would've hoped, but I want improve upon it today for a good finish for the season".
As he took off for the first hole, we were surrounded by a silent atmosphere of nature in the the location of Beadlow. Robbie hit 7 shots for the first hole despite the par 4. Progressively as the day went on Robbie's shots improved despite some inconsistency on the course. He finished the course on 46 shots and 9 over the par of 36. Coming 5th out of 12 contenders, Robbie said "I felt I didn't play the best golf on the day, a few mistakes here and there. I left a few to many shots out on the course, but compared to the first day I hit the ball well and started to hit a lot more fairways. Just a few bad scores out on the course cost me, however I am excited for the next season and ready to practice!"
